Denver isn’t called “the Mile High City” for nothing! It got its sophisticated nickname from the 13th step leading up to the State Capitol, which is exactly 5,280 feet above sea level. Colorado’s capital might be famed for its ski resorts and breathtaking scenery, but tourists will discover just how much more the city has to offer. Surprisingly, Denver gets 300 days of sunshine a year; that’s a lot more than Miami. It embraces its cowboy past – William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) is buried just 30 minutes away from the city, after all – its mining heritage and it’s great outdoors. But Denver is a cosmopolitan, artsy and cultural city as well. The Museum of Contemporary Art focuses on art created since 1945, while its Daniel Libeskind-designed Denver Art Museum exhibits vast collections of American Indian, African, European and American, and Modern art.

The Rocky Mountains offer a magnificent backdrop to the Denver landscape. They are the perfect setting for nature enthusiasts flying to Denver for fishing, hiking, camping, bicycling and, of course, the skiing, in any of the 10 National parks or 11 National forests present on the city’s doorstep. If you are fond of beer and want to spend some quality time with your friends while having some fun, Denver has no less than 80 different beers brewed in the area. Whenever you plan to fly to Denver, it is advisory to plan it for some extra days as you will surely be fond of spending a vacation there.
